On June 6, 2004, St. Matthew Baptist Church held it first service in the Henderson Convention Center. Since then, dedicated members have worked hard to make St. Matthew Baptist a loving, teaching, Bible-based congregation, “where the people are the church”. On January 28, 2005, St. Matthew Baptist Church received its Corporate Charter from the State of Nevada and became a tax-exempt entity. In 2006, we started our Bible Study at Sun City Anthem in the Arts & Crafts room. On April 19, 2009, St. Matthew Baptist Church leased a property at 693 Valle Verde, Suites 8 & 9 in Henderson, Nevada until moving into Lora J. Kesterson Elementary School, 231 Bailey Island Drive, Henderson, Nevada on May 1, 2017 and held services there until the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. St. Matthew Baptist Church has purchased land on the east side of Las Vegas with plans underway to build a sanctuary.
